Attorney Neuman
was the son of Theodore and Edna Neuman and grew up on a farm in Geneva, Ohio. Theodore was a steel worker. Doug was the Valedictorian
of the 1970 class of Geneva High School. He graduated from Vanderbilt University summa cum laude with a B.A. in Chemistry
and History, and a minor in mathematics. Attorney Neuman graduated from Case Western Reserve University Franklin Thomas Bacchus
School of Law in 1977. Attorney Neuman was recognized for community service through the United Way, Boy Scouts of America, the Niles
Historical Society, Residential Horizons, SCOPE, Niles Rotary, and as an Elder of First Christian Church in Niles. Attorney
Neuman began practicing law with Attorney R. Clare Westenfield in 1977. After the death of Attorney Westenfield, Doug continued
in a solo general practice. In addition to his private practice, Attorney Neuman served as general counsel for Security Dollar
Bank from 1978 through 1990 and was Law Director of the City of Niles from 1980 through 1983. He was also a licensed settlement
agent providing real estate title and closing services from 1987 until his death in 2023. In 1974, Doug married Billie
(Porter) Neuman. Attorney Neuman passed away on May 13, 2023. He is survived by his wife Billie, his four children: Benjamin
W. Neuman, Ph.D., (Nicola Benning) of Texarkana, Texas, Jacob T. Neuman of Longwood, Florida, Rebecca G. Neuman of Euclid,
Ohio, and Samuel D. Neuman (Ryan McPhee) of New York, New York, and by his three grandchildren: Isaac, Theia, and Vegas.
